so far it seems the parts that change the actual character models are the pfb files in objectroot mainfolder>prefab folder. they can only accept other character types though. i can't get zombies to work because zombies seem to be split into many parts, shirts, pants, etc.
the main sectionroot folder seems to control the modelviewer files or is what is otherwise associated with it when opening the model viewer
this is the helicopter pilot renamed to leon's costume parts. has the weapons on ground issue. most likely pilot doesn't have bones to holster weapons properly:
a new file list for quick bms extractor would be appreciated so i can access more character pfbs.

I wish more people would discuss how to get this done.

I see! Thanks! I'd like to know. I downloaded Claire's default hair for her DLC and though they do show up perfectly in-game, it slightly bothers me it's not showing in the model viewer. Claire is still wearing her hat (Noir) and Bandana (Military). I see what you're saying and I am trying to figure out how to make the models in the model viewer have her hair out as well. How do I get them to show? Thanks in advance!

I can answer this: This here is Noir Claires parts to her model, as you can see "Body, Face, Hair" the hair part includes the hat for Noir for example The model in the model viewer is different, its one whole thing. This is the file: So sadly even if it bugs you slightly, were gonna have to deal with it. The mod was made by replacing the hat file (hair) in picture A with her default hair. And we can't do that for the figure.

Weird, though, I downloaded and am using Leon's default hair for Noir and replaced his Arklay hat with the slicked back Noir hair and it is showing in the model viewer as well. I don't know how it happened for that but I am glad they're showing in the model viewer, too. Sad for Claire, though. I hate the bandana and the Noir hat lol

I can't even do retextures for RE2 but I have had a hell of a time making reskins for the other games (Making Jill blonde in REmake, turning Leon brunette in RE6, cleaning up blemishes on Sherry's face in RE6 and etc). Sadly, I can't do the reskins I wanna do for RE2 even lol

lol don't count on it. i don't think capcom has ever released or helped modders in any way. most japanese companies seem to avoid modding from what i understand.
we're on our own lol.
for me, the best possible modding tool for this game would be something like the rage engine tool that russian guy made for grand theft auto series of games because it's gui based and quite easy to swap parts around.

experimented some more with zombie gear like the police hat. i replaced leon's hair file so unfortunately while it looks ok from the front, from the back and sides you cna see a huge space on the hat meant for the hair. but since the hair file was replaced, it's jus t a big empty space. need to figure out how to keep the hair with the new objec without replacing...probably not possible without editing the pfb files themselves to change where they pull the model and texture objects from. i'm assuming that's how the game works. or maybe it's another file like the jcns files that control all of that.
i think ultimately if we figure out how to edit and save those types of files, model swappng won't even be necessary, you can just tell the game which models to use on which parts

lol it's not worth sharing. trust me, you'll look at it for a few seconds then uninstall or install another mod. the hat is completely byjorked up from the back and side view.

Is it possible to do this with weapons, too? I.e., could I swap the Samurai Edge in for the Lightning Hawk?
